Last Friday saw Inhaler playing to a sold out Birmingham Academy, in support of sophomore album ‘Cuts & Bruises’.

With two albums now under their belt, Inhaler have a plethora of new fans in love with their material, a far cry from the U2 dads who once filled the crowds at their early shows.
Bursting into action, the boys opened with lead single ‘These Are The Days’, a surefire indie banger that had the crowd bouncing from the get-go. They quickly followed this up with the punchy bassline of ‘My Honest Face’, arguably their biggest song, which used to close their set.
After slowing it down with ‘Totally’ and a couple of album tracks, ‘When It Breaks’ picks the pace up, where the opening songs left off, only for the band to revert to mid-tempo track ‘My King Will Be Kind’. This song is no bore however, as the band cut out all but the drums to hear the crowd sing back fan favourite lyrics.

If the crowd were to head for the bar, it would’ve been during new track ‘Valentine’. A slower number off the new album, which feels yet to resonate with a live audience, given the prematurity of the record.
That’s not to say the fans aren’t totally in love with Cuts & Bruises. Both ‘Dublin In Ecstasy’ and ‘Love Will Get You There’ play back-to-back and appear to be early fan favourites. From there on in, chaos ensues, with fans going nuts for the last 5 tracks, with the band closing on early single ‘It Wont Always Be Like This’, at the perfect tempo to get the entire crowd bouncing.
