Balancing Act cover ‘Dumb’ off Nirvana’s ‘In Utero’ for this weeks Sunday Session!
Originally from Manchester, London based ‘Balancing Act’ are gaining rapid traction as one of the most exciting indie bands in years. From featuring on DORK’s Hype List of 2023, to recieving airplay on BBC Radio 1 as part of Jack Saunders’ ‘Next Wave’. The cover fits snugly with the dark and atmospheric sound that Balancing Act have built for themselves, along with lyrics that Jack Saunders described as elusive.
Kai Roberts (vocals) and Jackson Couzens (guitar) first met in Manchester whilst working on separate projects. They quickly bonded, sharing at this time that they both “felt as though we’d hit a wall in Manchester, both musically and personally – it wasn’t offering what we wanted anymore, so we packed up and moved to London”. In moving to London the pair completed their quartet with newest band members George Le Page (drums) and David Carpenter (bass).
